Reliability Engineer - RAM
Beschreibung
As a Reliability Engineer (RAM) at INNIO - (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability), you ensure the robustness and lifecycle performance of Jenbacher gas engines. You identify high-risk failure modes early, collaborating with design, validation, controls, and field service teams to address reliability risks. You work with digital engineers to use data from myplant for advanced reliability modeling. Applying physics-of-failure and statistical methods, you develop reliability tests and recommendations that shape product design, validation, maintenance, and customer outcomes, especially for demanding applications like data centers, CHP, grid support, and island operation.
At INNIO we offer you:
- Young & supportive team - in a fast-growing international business environment
- Learn & develop yourself - help you craft your career path with (INNIO learning, free language courses according to business needs
- Hybrid working - 50% Office, 50 % Home Office with flexible working hours
- Cafeteria package with various options - SZÉP Card, Cash option, Nursery & kindergarten support
- Medicover Spring White Package- from the first day of employment
- Easily accessible location - in the heart of the most vibrant campus area in Budapest (location: 13rd District, easy to approach by Metro Line 3)
- Take a break - Recharge your batteries with free coffee and tea selection in the kitchen area
- Live an active lifestyle – activate your AYCM pass
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute reliability strategies across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through validation, field operation, and continuous improvement
- Perform FMEA for new designs, design changes, material substitutions, supplier changes, and operating-mode variations
- Identify and assess critical failure modes across mechanical, thermal, electrical, hydraulic, lubrication, and control subsystems
- Define and author reliability test plans based on physics of failure, operational duty cycles, and customer use cases
- Analyze test and field data using statistical reliability methods (e.g. Weibull analysis, life distributions, confidence intervals)
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable engineering recommendations for design, materials, controls, or operational changes
- Provide reliability know-how to customer projects, particularly for high-availability and mission-critical applications
- Conduct and develop reliability and maintainability modeling and prediction analyses using tools such as Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs), Monte Carlo simulations, and Single-Point-of-Failure (SPOF) analysis
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related disciplines)
- At least 5 years of experience in reliability engineering or a closely related field
- Ability to apply failure analysis methodologies to derive root causes and support corrective actions
- Experience with statistical reliability methods (Weibull analysis, Monte Carlo simulations) and accelerated life testing techniques
- Experience with SPOF analysis of mechanical and electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design and failure mechanisms for power generation equipment and power plants
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- High attention to details and a natural curiosity for understanding how complex systems work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic engineering environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across functions
Nice to have:
- M.Sc. or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field
- Experience in reliability modeling for mission-critical applications (e.g. data centers), including availability, redundancy concepts, and risk-based operating strategies
- Ability to travel internationally without restriction (mostly US)
- German language skills are an advantage
